2016 Chevrolet Cruze Release Date - 2016 Chevrolet Cruze will go on sale some time in 2015 as a 2016 models. Great news for Shanghai GM, a joint venture of General Motors' with Chinese SAIC Motors, in 2014 Beijing Auto Show, which has just started today, is the world premiere of the new generation of the Chevrolet Cruze.

GM says the new Cruze is developed by global R & D team, but has been shown in previous reports that it is (CDM) model of the Chinese domestic market and that the North American version due in the next 18 months will be different. We have to wait and see what it means in practice.
CDM new Cruze is a clean-sheet design that ride on a new architecture, with GM stating that "the goal is to set new standards in the segment fuel economy, handling and smart technology".
You might think of a Dodge Dart or a Toyota Corolla when you see the new Cruze, but what GM saw was a car inspired by the Chevrolet Tru Concept coupe shown in Detroit back in 2012.
Under the hood, 2015 Cruze is the first model to offer a new generation of small-displacement Ecotec engines co-developed by GM and SAIC. According to the GM release, "it is available with a choice of 1.4L mid-mounted first direct-injection turbocharged engine or the first segment of a mid-mounted 1.5L naturally aspirated engine". Unless we lose something, we assume GM means the engine mounted on the front end of the car, not in the middle ...
The Cruze will offer a choice of three different transmissions, including DCG all-new seven-speed dual-clutch transmission co-developed by GM and SAIC, six-speed manual transmission all-new, developed in Europe, and the third-generation automated manual S6 six -Speed , with GM promises fuel economy improvement of 14-21 per cent compared with the previous model.
